There’s nothing quite like an easy weekend in the English countryside, surrounded by the Atlantic and walking trails out to pebbled beaches. Easily one of my favourite places in England, the Seven Sisters Cliffs, or the Chalk White Cliffs are an easy getaway from London for the day or weekend. Made from chalk that formed as the South Downs met the English Channel, it’s the perfect (and incredibly instagrammable) cliffside getaway in the South of England!
Getting There :
Take the train from London’s Victoria Station towards Brighton (about £50-55 for a roundtrip – less with a railcard!). Stop for a coffee and some light brunch in Brighton – the coffee and croissant stalls right outside the station are amazing – before catching the bus 12 or 12A to the Seven Sisters Visitor Centre – you can also catch bus 13X to Hotel and walk less than five minutes to the cliffs.
#protip : if you’re taking bus 12 or 12A, get off one stop before the visitor centre to get right on some of the nicer trails.
Once You’re There :
You made it! There are a few trails you can walk to get to the beach – definitely take the one from the Beachy Head up to the hilltop, and the others leading off from there to explore the beach.
Grab a bite at The Beachy Head – we loved their halloumi salad with a side of sweet potato fries – before catching the bus back from right outside to head back to London.
